The activities listed below can be delivered face-to-face or virtually on dates that suit you. We can usually offer some flexibility with timings to fit with your school or college timetable.
Learning to Lead
About this programme: This programme supports learners to increase their confidence and leadership abilities by guiding them through designing, delivering and reflecting on a project. It will help learners to develop key skills that they will be able to demonstrate to employers, colleges and universities, with a particular focus on presentation and communication skills.
Year groups: Years 12 and 13
Format: Three two-hour sessions delivered face-to-face or virtually by DANCOP staff

All about Apprenticeships
About this programme: This programme encourages learners to consider all their post-18 options by introducing them to the world of apprenticeships. Learners will take part in two sessions focused on developing their understanding of higher and degree apprenticeships before participating in a question and answer session with current apprentices and employers.

Girls into STEAM
About this programme: This exciting programme is for female and female-identifying learners with an interest in a career in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and maths). Learners will take part in two masterclasses focusing on STEAM subjects, followed by a question and answer session with role models working in STEAM roles.

Employable Me
About this programme: This activity will support learners to develop personal skills and qualities vital for employment. Learners will engage with challenges and activities to help them explore the qualities and skills that are important for successful employment, before putting their own skills into practice in a mock assessment centre.

Boys into Healthcare - available from April 2021
About this programme: This programme addresses preconceptions and stigma associated with males entering healthcare professions. Learners will learn about the range of exciting careers available in this industry through a variety of practical, hands-on activities, before quizzing professionals working in this sector in a question and answer session.

Careers in the Creative Industries - available from April 2021
About this programme: Our Careers in the Creative Industries activity provides learners with an exclusive sneak peek behind the scenes of a variety of industries and roles within the creative sector. Learners will take part in masterclasses with practical elements and discover more about the careers and opportunities that are available to them.

Youth Mental Health First Aid: Learner Awareness - available from May 2021
About this programme: Trained Youth Mental Health First Aid instructors will deliver a half-day awareness course to support learners to become mental health ambassadors for your school or college, followed by an afternoon learning about routes into related job roles.
Format: One full-day event delivered at your school/college or a local university/college site, depending on COVID-19 restrictions

All about Drama School - Date to be confirmed
About this event: This event is aimed at learners with an interest in a career in the performing arts. Learners will take part in workshops led by practitioners from leading drama schools, all designed to develop their understanding of the professional training available.

Inspiring Futures - Thursday 27th May 2021
About this event: Join us for one of DANCOP’s largest ever events! Our exciting and interactive virtual careers event will bring together regional and national employers from the private, public and charity sectors, as well as further and higher education providers. Learners will gain knowledge of local opportunities and labour market information, helping them to explore a range of avenues they may not have previously considered.
