Lead the Way
Lead the Way is a bespoke programme for Year 12 learners, aiming to equip them with a variety of project management skills.
Learners will be given a chance to learn about leading and managing projects, and what it means to be a part of a project team, whilst developing a range of transferable skills.
Available for Year 12 and Level 3 learners.

Introduction to Project Management
This session introduces learners to project management. Learners will audit their skills and qualities and reflect on how these skills could support a team. They will also be introduced to the project they will be planning throughout the programme.

Teamwork and Communication
This session focuses on developing teamwork skills through team building and communication activities. Learners will begin to develop a project proposal.

Project Proposals and Project Management
In this session, learners will continue to develop their project proposals using techniques such as SWOT analysis, GANTT charts and other project management tools. They will prepare to present their final proposals.

Presentations and Evaluation
During this session, project groups will present their finished project proposals to the class. We will also discuss how to evaluate a project and the
importance of reflection once a project or piece of work is complete. -
Reflection and Next Steps
In this session, learners are asked to reflect on the skills and qualities they identified in the first session and evaluate how they have developed these
skills over the course of the programme. They will practise how to reference their skills and qualities in job and HE interviews, using the STAR method to
structure their answers.
