Looking back on last week, here are our highlights:
At Buxton & Leek College, we ran our HE Progression Pathways session, looking at different Higher Education routes that the level 3 Year 1 students can consider after they complete their level 3 courses.
Learners on the Steps to Success programme at Newark Academy took part in a revision session with Karolina and had a go at using the story method. Really innovative takes on the technique: some short stories, some poems and even a couple comics!
Tina Wakelin introduced the HE & Me programme to The Bolsover School with year 10 learners. We looked at What is Higher Education and the benefits of this. Some great questions from the learners and we are looking forward to going back to The Bolsover School this Thursday for the second session around Routes and Careers, and then later in March, the learners will be coming to the University of Derby for a campus visit.
We finished the week at Ashfield School where Emma, Karolina, Natalie and Matthew worked with Year 7 on our new Key Stage 3 skills programme. They started the day with a session from University of Nottingham before taking part in activities focused on teamwork, communication and time management. Some good fun and great engagement from learners who got very passionate about building the tallest newspaper tower!
