Here are our highlights from last week:
We started the week at Nottingham College, where learners had breakout sessions exploring “what are higher and degree apprenticeships”, “the application process” and “employability and transferable skills”. It was great to see such a wide range of students that are interested in expanding their horizons across the college careers week!
At Chesterfield College, we had a busy day delivering sessions on higher and degree apprenticeships and resilience. Natalie was really impressed by the engagement of the learners throughout the day.
At Nottingham College, we changed campus and continued our national careers week tour at the City Hub with more apprenticeship breakout sessions. There were some great conversations about the different opportunities in aviation and the range of roles available!
We returned to Buxton & Leek College with our HE and Pathways session. Natalie enjoyed working with the level 3 sports learners and exploring sports pathways.
Natalie and Matthew concluded the Prepare to Succeed programme at Springwell Community College. Learners spent time thinking about what they needed to do to revise effectively including resources they need, the environment where they revise, proper nutrition and effective time management. We hope your new timetables come in handy and good luck in your exams!
Meanwhile at Chesterfield College, Childcare and Health & Social Care learners took part in sessions on resilience with Tina. Some great conversations about resilience, self-care and reflecting on what works for them, along with activities for them to try out.
We returned to the The Bolsover School for our HE & Me programme where year 10 learners considered routes and careers pathways with Natalie Smallwood.
We finished the week at Chesterfield College, where Health and Social Care learners learnt all about apprenticeships with Matthew. It was great to see so many young people looking into healthcare apprenticeships. Well done to the learners who were really engaged and asked loads of great questions.
