Weekly Round Up – 07/04/2025

As we wrap up for the Spring break, here is our activity round up from last week:

We welcomed Sixth Form learners from the Royal School for the Deaf at the University of Derby Markeaton Street campus for a campus visit. Alfie, one of the University of Derby student ambassadors, gave the learners a fabulous tour of the campus. Tina then delivered a session on Interview Skills, and learners then planned out how they would answer key interview questions to help them prepare for future college and job interviews.

At Bluecoat Beechdale Academy, year 10 learners took part in the Steps to Success programme on Tuesday and Wednesday as part of their work experience week. The learners completed the programme over the two days with Hollie and Aysha.

Karolina visited Farnborough Spencer Academy with the second half of our Prepare to Succeed programme, this time focusing on revision techniques such as mind maps, cornell notes and protege effect. It was great to see year 10 decide to try revision techniques that they haven’t come across before!

Year 13 at the Newark Academy took part in their last Get Ready session with Karolina, this time focusing on #budgeting at higher education. It was interesting to see what they’d sacrifice in their budget just to be able to afford that en-suite student accommodation!

We hope everyone has a restful break and we look forward to seeing you in the Summer term!
