Here are our highlights from last week:
We started the week at Heanor Gate Spencer Academy, where learners took part in the last session of the Learn to Work programme – Interviews and Assessment centres. Learners displayed some excellent teamwork skills in the tasks! Natalie is looking forward to continuing to work with this group this week for a mock interview-focused session.
Karolina and Natalie were back at Springwell Community College for the second Lead the Way session where learners worked on their teamwork and negotiating skills. They set a record for how quickly the activity was completed! Next week we’ll be polishing up our project proposals and looking at project management techniques.
Natalie visited Royal School for the Deaf Derby where learners engaged in an interview skills session including mock interview practice, ahead of their upcoming college interviews. Natalie was really impressed by the group and their communication skills. She looks forward to working with the group in a weeks’ time for further practice!
We finished the week with week two of the Get Ready programme at Nottingham Emmanuel School. This week we discussed resilience and how we can practice self-care to help us to achieve our goals. We have resolved to reflect further on our self-care strategies over the next week and feedback as a group when we meet again next week.
