Here are our highlights from last week:
Emma, Karolina, Hollie and Matthew were at University of Nottingham for our fourth NOVA Trust Year 10 day, learners from three schools within the trust were welcomed onto campus and kicked off the day with an insightful session around pathways and progression to university delivered by UoN, following this the learners had a tour of campus. After lunch the learners took part in an interactive workshop delivered by Aim A Little Higher before concluding the day with a DANCOP workshop.
At Ripley Academy, we supported a Drop-Down day with Year 10 providing guidance on Post 16 Routes and Pathways.
At Quarrydale Academy, Year 12 took part in two more Get Ready sessions, working on resilience and communication with Karolina and Emma. We also returned later in the week where we met the incoming Year 12s as part of their induction! We looked at goal setting and how they can make the most of their upcoming two-year journey.

We had an amazing final day with our Future Leaders Nottingham learners. We kicked off the day with a session on university and career pathways delivered by Franklyn Ogosi from the University of Nottingham followed by a FE Panel with our wonderful Bilborough College ambassadors. The afternoon started with an inspirational keynote from former England Netball Captain Pamela Cookey, followed by a powerful panel discussion featuring Pamela as well as Franklyn, a senior lecturer from the University of Law and two current UoN students. The young people impressed us with the thoughtful and insightful questions they asked the panel and it was wonderful to have the panel chaired by two members of the group. We concluded the programme with a celebration event where parents and/or carers were invited to share the achievements of our fantastic Future Leaders class of 2025! Bluecoat Wollaton Academy, Djanogly City Academy Nottingham academy, Farnborough Spencer Academy and The Nottingham Emmanuel School (NES).
Tina returned to Heanor Gate Spencer Academy with our HE and Me programme where learners took part in a session about Routes and Career Pathways, spending time researching potential routes into their future career and looking at what qualifications might be needed. We are looking forward to welcoming the group onto the University of Derby Kedleston Road campus next week.
